Whats up Yunus Sports Hub? November Edition
During the month of November, we have inspired over 5,000 young people to harness the power of Sport & Social Business to develop solutions in their communities. The global Sport & Social Business Community has welcomed problem solvers, sport enthusiasts, social business champions & everyone in between.
SOCIAL BUSINESS FOR PEACE — COLOMBIA EVENT
In partnership with Yunus Environment Hub, the Grameen Creative Lab and the YY Foundation we hosted a panel moderated by our Latin American Community Leader Gabriela Matus discussing sport and social business for the construction of peace and social justice. The event included a panel of local leaders in Sport & Social Business. This virtual event brought together 700 participants.
GLOBAL SPORTS WEEK
On November 6th, we partnered with Global Sports Week for the #YoungSportsMakers Workshop. This problem-solving workshop brought together over 100 candidates from 28 different nationalities. We challenged the prospective #YoungSportsMakers to explore societal shifts that impact the sports industry and sketch the #FutureofSport together using social business. 30 of these problem-solvers will have the chance to represent the next generation of Young Sports Makers at GSWParis on February 1–5, 2021.
IOC YOUNG LEADERS
The IOC Young Leader 6 Week Learning Sprint is in full swing! With over 3,000 participants, we have watched the world of Sport & Social Business explode with learning, enthusiasm, and collaboration. While it is impossible for us to highlight all of the ways that these participants have inspired us, here is a video created by the IOC Young Leader Communication Team.
UNITED THROUGH SPORTS WORLD VIRTUAL YOUTH FESTIVAL 2020
Professor Yunus kicked off the UTS World Virtual Youth Festival 2020 with a keynote speech (17:20min) for thousands of energized young problem solvers. Professor Yunus’ speech was aired globally on television on the Olympic Channel.
Along with Professor Yunus, Yunus Sports Hub was represented by Emma Hickey (USA) and Pamela Gonzales (Guatemala) as the Yunus Sports Hub Youth Ambassadors for the event. Check out the videos below to learn more about what energizes these passionate young problem solvers!
On November 18th, during the festival, Yunus Sports Hub hosted an engaging workshop featuring four empowering IOC Young Leaders who inspired the youth participants with Sport & Social Business solutions they have designed & implemented to make change in their local communities.
